Few UK academics have as deep an experience of the Indian academic market as I do. I have been involved with India for more than ten years and in the past, have acted as faculty coordinator for the Indian market which has involved a range of roles such as attending numerous exhibitions (British Council as well as agent exhibitions), interviewing and counselling students, organising and leading pre-departure counselling and influencing faculty curriculum and pastoral development in response to demand from the Indian market. I have guided and led the development of academic strategic policy towards the Indian market and signed 4 (effective) MoUs with academic institutions in India and have guest lectured in more than 30 University/Colleges some of which include:

  • Numerous guest lectures for other institutions in India – for instance the Tami Nadu State Police Academy and regularly for the Computer Science of India.
  • External curriculum advisor to the Computing faculties at Bharathiyar University and also Hindustan University (Centre for Defence and Technology Studies) for their Cyber Security provision
  • Out-reach work – particularly in guiding/counselling students from under privileged areas in Universities/Colleges which have a large rural catchment
  • Given numerous press interviews and conferences and have had countless articles published in national Indian news papers on the subject of Cyber Security and Digital Investigation.

Over this time, I have a built a network of more than 100 academics in India including heads of department, vice chancellors, directors and principals.

I have also organised numerous publicity campaigns for both my institutions, as an example see this feature which appeared in the Hindu on 30th December, 2013. The Hindu is a national newspaper. These initiatives have helped to highlight and increase awareness of the University and the course.
